If your truck fails to start, you likely have one of several possible issues. Your battery could be dead due to old age, meaning your starter and glow plugs won’t function properly, hence the inability to start your truck. Other possible causes include a failing alternator, which for those unaware, is responsible for charging your battery. A bad alternator means your battery won’t get any power, and your electrical components will fail.

Adding a liftgate to the back of your medium-duty box truck or your heavy-duty trailer can be a great way to increase your loading and unloading abilities. Rather than using a forklift to load cargo, you can simply dolly it onto the liftgate, and dolly it into the trailer. This allows for easy loading and unloading regardless of where you are. It’s not always possible to have a forklift on hand, especially for those working in areas with less than satisfactory terrain.

Your Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) is responsible for capturing soot, carbon, and other diesel pollutants before they reach our natural atmosphere. DPFs are integrated directly into your exhaust tubing and, as such, all of the emissions coming from your engine must pass through it. Although DPFs have a finite storage capacity, they have self-cleaning modes that free up space and allow them to operate longer. This is called regeneration. At times, forced regeneration may be necessary if the component gets clogged.

A tractor-trailer’s Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) works by trapping soot from the engine’s exhaust. A catalyst inside promotes a chemical reaction, oxidizing the soot into less harmful substances. This happens through passive or active regeneration, where high temperatures either naturally or artificially burn off the trapped particles. Sensors monitor soot levels and backpressure, triggering regeneration when needed. Additionally, the DPF can accumulate inorganic ash, necessitating periodic maintenance. Effective DPF functioning is vital for meeting emission standards and maintaining engine performance in diesel vehicles.
